JACK REACHER !! ?? !! I wanted to watch Tom Clancy's, Jack Ryan but got REACHER instead.

Updated: Apr 21, 2022

Stupid me, I wanted to watch Tom Clancy's, Jack Ryan staring, John Krasinski however, I'd flicked onto Jack Reacher instead. So I kept watching anyway.

I had previously watched, seasons 1 and 2 of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan staring, John and I really loved it.

I wasn't sure how John Krasinski would fair playing a role such as this, but he really nailed it and in fact, I thought him really appealing in these type of characters moving forward.

So when I saw Jack Reacher I thought, oh hey, cool there's another season out, I instantly commando rolled into my massive Kloud Sac Bean bag,
⏩ click bang, on the TV remote control
😲Oh... stupid me, what... Who's Jack Reacher? isn't he Jack Ryan... 🤔
{Z} , it's is a completely different story, do you remember Tom Cruise as

Jack Reacher?

Oh yeah, that's right!

Jack Reacher is the protagonist of a series of crime thriller novels by British author Lee Child. After leaving the US Army as a major in its military police at age 36, Reacher roams the United States taking odd jobs and investigating suspicious and frequently dangerous situations. As of 27 October 2021 , 26 novels have been published, the most recent being Better Off Dead, as well as some short stories. Two novels about Reacher have been adapted into films starring Tom Cruise.

I wanted to love this series, I really did. I tried so goddamn hard and even binged 3 epsidoes in a row. Unfortunately for me, it fell short.

The first couple of episodes were good enough to keep me going, but, by the middle of the 9th episode it became a very slow burn, very, and even though the final ep was literally on fire, that fire had fizzled out way before then.

Shame.

Let's talk acting.

Alan Ritchson. Pysically cast beautifully. He's a beast of a man. I mean a BEAST.

A few little jokes about his size were layered in the show which I enjoyed, but was left wanting so much more from his performance.

I wasn't sure if the director had wanted Alan (Jack) to play the role like Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Terminator. I really thought he must've as Alan played the role of Jack so robotic like. I kept waiting to see more... Something, some emotion of some sort, but it never came.

Was it the writing? I don't think so, he did have some good lines and opportunities to show some emotional reach however as an audience we never get to see it. Shame.

Malcolm Goodwin as Oscar Finlay.

Look, it was a good performance, nothing outstanding, a bit generic and typical if you get what I mean.

But the actor that pulled it all together was, Willa Fitzgerald.

A new face for me and she was the reason I kept watching particularly throughout the last couple of episodes when I could've tuned out.

She played the role of Roscoe Conklin really well.

A strong female role, which was nice to see for once. She brought the light and shade to her character where the others lacked. She looks lovely on screen as well. I found her believable within the setting (background) of the show. I believe she is very castable in different genres and characters. All the best to her.

A little about Willa.

Willa Fitzgerald is an American actress, native of Nashville, Tennessee, United States. Fitzgerald graduated from the Harpeth Hall School, a private college-preparatory school for girls in Nashville in 2009, then got her BA in theater studies from Yale University in 2013.

A watchable show. Nothing heavy, easy to watch and be entertained
